Momma wants out! - 2005/04/25 06:21 I have a momma...babies are 2 weeks old now, 4 of her own and 2 foster babies....today when I have been near the cage, replacing leaking water bottle, giving her food, Momma starts climbing the walls wanting out. I have had her out twice today for about 10-15 minutes each time. Is this Ok? Is she tired of the babies already?

Re:Momma wants out! - 2005/04/25 17:50 When I had a mum with 5 kits she spent a lot of time out of the nest. I believe it was because she needed a break and could not get it in the nest with all those hoglets.

Re:Momma wants out! - 2005/04/26 01:20 Ok, momma was sleeping in the nest and babies were outside the nest. I put everyone back in and put a heating pad underneath before I left for work. I got home and momma was sleeping outside the nest. But a half hour later she was in feeding everyone! Whew. Thank goodness. Sorry to panic anyone. No momma has done this before!

Re:Momma wants out! - 2005/04/26 03:08 I would guess that she is getting tired of the babies. As long as she spends enough time with them that they eat and grow, I wouldn't be horribly worried about it personally.

I think she was glad too see them go too.
