Yesterdays News - 2007/01/08 09:49 hey everyone

what are your thoughts one using Yesterdays News Litter as bedding for a hedgehogs cage ( this was suggested by the vet instead of shavings). Do any of you use it? do your hedgies like it?

Re:Yesterdays News - 2007/01/08 10:02 I have tried it for my guys and it worked fine. It was just real heavy in the trash bag to throw away ( I have 7 hedgies so the bag got real heavy- plus we have to pay for our trash removal). They cant dig down into it and make nests like they can in shavings but as long as you give them a hedgie bag that they can snuggle in they should be fine. Julie Pierce

Re:Yesterdays News - 2007/01/09 21:24 I was using it in the boys litter boxes for a while and found it to be very clean and help with odor. Now I use paper towels in their litter box and carefresh for their bedding. They sleep in hedgie bags though. I finally made some right before christmas and now they won't sleep anywhere else. Re:Yesterdays News - 2007/02/06 23:32 Which kind of Yesterdays new did you use? There is one for cats, ferrets, rabbits or small animals...The one for small animals seems like the pellets would be small and lodge somewhere not too nice.

Re:Yesterdays News - 2007/02/07 07:52 I used the kind made for kitty litter. It is larger pellets that cannot get stuck. My boys did not mind it in the litter box but it was expensive I thought. Cyn and Hedgie Boys

Re:Yesterdays News - 2007/08/18 19:42 I used it for the litter box- but I recently switched to paper towel to see if they would actually USE their litter box... It seems I got two hedgies who like to do business anywhere they can I used the ferret size in the blue bag. *~*Steph*~*

Re:Yesterdays News - 2007/08/29 10:57 I have tried it in the litter box. It is a little dusty, even though it says 97% dust free. It's only dusty when I dump it in their potty pan. I'm thinking of trying the paper towel idea. It's alot cheaper.

I would think using it as bedding would not be as heggie friendly as shavings. Think about it, your already covered with sharpe objects and the last thing you want to do is walk and lay around on hard rolled up paper bits. lol just a thought.

Re:Yesterdays News - 2007/08/29 12:07 I am using paper towls. Easy to clean up. The rest is fleece. He seems to go in his litter box now. I put he poo in the litter box when he wasn't using it, and now he gets it. Of course his favorite litter box is me. http://www.freewebs.com/wicket61807/index.htm

Re:Yesterdays News - 2007/08/29 12:44 Just a warning to all those "Yesterday's News" users out there, I remember coming across this page when researching the best litter to get Quentin before I got him. I recommend everyone read this:
