As far as I can see, this only applies to cans and pouches.
If anyone hears anything about dry kibble, let us know.

Companies do seem to be updating their websites frequently so if you have questions regarding pet foods that you are currently feeding. I would check the pet food company website for any food you have on hand.

Re:Canned cat and dog food recall-NEW RECALL 4/25/ - 2007/04/26 06:29
Precautionary Rice Protein Recall: Drs. Foster & Smith Adult Dry Lite Dog and Adult Dry Lite Cat Food
Rice protein concentrate has been indicated as a possible source of melamine recently found in pet food products. As a precautionary measure Wilbur-Ellis company, the supplier of rice protein concentrate, is voluntarily recalling all lots of rice protein concentrate. We received notification from the manufacturer today, April 25, 2007, suggesting we issue a precautionary recall.
Two of our products: Adult Lite Dry Dog (Item #'s 14178, 14179, 14180, 14262, 14263) and Adult Lite Dry Cat foods (Item #'s 12855, 12856, 13864, 13865) contain rice protein concentrate. Only the Adult Lite Dry Dog and Adult Lite Dry Cat foods contain rice protein concentrate.
Preliminary test results for melamine contamination have been negative. Final test results from the FDA are expected within two weeks. Please check the Adult Lite Dry Dog food or the Adult Lite Dry Cat food product pages on the DrsFosterSmith.com website for any updates.
If your pet has consumed either the Adult Lite Dry Dog food or the Adult Lite Dry Cat food and shows signs of illness (such as loss of appetite, lethargy and vomiting), you should consult with your veterinarian immediately.
As part of this precautionary recall Drs. Foster & Smith requests that customers discontinue feeding the following products purchased during the periods listed, until all FDA testing is complete:
Adult Lite Dry Dog food item numbers 14180, 14262, 14263, or Adult Lite Dry Cat food item numbers 12855, 12856, 13864, 13865 purchased between January 22, 2007 and April 19th Adult Lite Dry Dog food item numbers 14178 and 14179 purchased between February 2, 2007 and April 19, 2007 Only Adult Lite Dry Dog (Item #'s 14178, 14179, 14180, 14262, 14263) and Adult Dry Lite Cat foods (Item #'s 12855, 12856, 13864, 13865) are included in this precautionary recall. The health and well being of your pet is always important to us, so as part of this precautionary recall: Drs. Foster & Smith is contacting all customers who have purchased these items during this period. These products are being reformulated to eliminate rice protein concentrate. The new formulation should be available by mid-May. Please call Customer Service at 1-800-239-7121 between 9:00 am and 7:00 pm CST or email CustomerService@DrsFosterSmith.com if you have questions. None of our other Drs. Foster & Smith foods contain the ingredients in question.

Manna Pro has a heritage of quality and takes pride in maintaining the highest quality standards for the products it produces and sells under the Manna Pro brand name.
Very recently, a few customers have reported that, when mixed with water, the Unimilk they purchased turns light grey in color rather than the characteristic creamy white. As we have investigated these consumer calls, we have identified that a single batch of Unimilk is affected by this issue.
The lot codes for this product are listed below.
PLEASE IMMEDIATELY DESTROY ANY PRODUCT YOU HAVE WITH THESE LOT CODES.

NEW RECALL: More SmartPak Dry Dog Food Recalled May 4th, 2007 On May 2, SmartPak recalled all orders of LiveSmart Adult Lamb and Brown Rice. This product tested positive for presence of melamine in a test received on May 2. After their first recall of LiveSmart Weight Management Chicken and Brown Rice, SmartPak sent all of their other dog food for testing, and Adult Lamb and Brown Rice came back with positive results. SmartPak is saying that this is odd because this particular dog food doesn't contain any rice protein concentrate, wheat gluten or any of the other ingredients that are on FDA's import watch list. They are saying it may be cross-contamination.

ST. CHARLES, Mo., May 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Royal Canin USA is announcing today the voluntary nationwide recall of eight Sensible Choice dry dog food products and seven Kasco dry dog and cat food products. This announcement is based on the company's ongoing extensive review of its manufacturing and quality assurance testing procedures, which identified trace amounts of a melamine derivative from tainted Chinese rice protein concentrate provided to the company by domestic ingredient supplier Cereal Byproducts, headquartered in Illinois. "We deeply regret the concern and anxiety this announcement today will cause our loyal customers and the entire pet community," Olivier Amice, President and CEO of Royal Canin USA, said. "While a very limited number of Sensible Choice and Kasco products in this recall tested positive for trace levels of a melamine derivative, Royal Canin USA is voluntarily withdrawing these products out of an abundance of caution and because we are fully committed to the welfare of our customers' pets." Royal Canin USA has no confirmed cases of melamine related illness in pets eating Sensible Choice and Kasco products affected by this recall. Last month, Royal Canin USA announced it will no longer use any Chinese vegetable protein suppliers. Re:More dry food Recalled - 2007/05/14 06:40
The recalls only represent about 1% of all the foods out there according to the avma.
http://www.avma.org/aa/petfoodrecall/faq.asp
So while it is good to be aware of the recalls there are still plenty of choices.

NEW RECALL: Lick Your Chops Recalls Dry Cat Food May 17th, 2007 Lick Your Chops is recalling their Kitten and Cat dry food in the 4 lb. and 18 lb. bags with a Best By date of 4/29/08, due to the possibility this product may have been cross-contaminated. The food doesn't contain any wheat gluten, corn gluten or rice protein concentrate, but "it was produced around the same time there may have been other products manufactured that contained rice gluten, even though tests on these products did not indicate any presence of contamination".
----------------------- NEW RECALL: Evolve Dry Kitten Food Recalled May 18th, 2007 Evolve is recalling their dry kitten food formula with the Best Used By date of September 13, 2008. Although no date is listed on the Evolve pet food recall page, we believe this has been posted recently according to one of our tipsters. FDA does not list Evolve food at all, just their Triumph canned food brand (which was a part of a previous recall). It's been added to our recall list. Unfortunately, it's been more than 2 months since the food was made. Evolve's announcement says: Evolve Kitten Food made on March 12, 2007 has now been included in [the recalled pet food] group. As of today, 99.4% of the 27,560 lbs. of product made on March 12, 2007 (Best Used By Sep 13 08) has been accounted for and removed from sale. Currently there is 168 lbs. that has not been accounted for. The above 168 lbs. is a total of 9 units in 3# and 7# sizes.

Dry Dog Food (Nutra Nuggets) Not On Recall List Test Positive For Melamine A central California vet is reporting that tests on a bag of Nutra Nuggets-brand dog food purchased from Costco tested positive for melamine. Nutra Nuggets is not on any current recall list. We are working on getting more specifics from the vet. A recall has not yet been issued. Veterinarian Dr. Matt Humason says "We began asking questions…we found the dogs all ate the same food from the same store at the same time… so we sent a sample to get it tested and it came back positive with melamine." All four dogs ate Nutra Nuggets brand food. A sample was sent to a lab at UC Davis and [the pet owner's] fears were confirmed. "All I'm trying to get people to do is notify the people and let them know we may have problem. Unfortunately I feel Costco has been very hesitant to do that." … They're working with the distributor to track down the specific batch number. A Costco representative tells KSEE 24 news once it's been tracked, they will immediately yank the product in question.
