please help me decide - 2007/05/20 19:03 I was youtubing last night, having a ball looking at videos of pet hedgehogs. Fell in love with them. Now, I'm trying to find some people to talk to who own them and can give me advice. Thinking of getting one myself.
Anyone willing to chat with me?

Re:please help me decide - 2007/05/20 19:19 Come to the chat room on Wed between 6 and 8pm EST. We usually have a decent crowd of hedgehog fanitics there. (OOps, I missed chat tonight. Sorry kids, I'm just not up to it today)

I'd offer to chat, but I'm sick as a dog and heading back to bed. Colds are no fun!

But I am sure there are plently of people here that will share hedgehog stories with you.

there are so manyknowledgable people around here, if you have a question its a given that someone on here knows the answer themselves or knows someone else who knows the answer and will point youintwhat direction to go. where are you located? maybe someone on here is near you and you can talk to them and then maybe schedule a meet and greet with their hedgie. (just a thought). Nice to have you on here though.

Re:please help me decide - 2007/05/22 05:36 Most breeders will let you come and meet a hedgehog so if you have one nearby that may be the answer. Also, reading the articles. especially FAQ and Before you get a hedgehog section will help you out. We all love our hedgehogs

Re:please help me decide - 2007/05/22 06:40 I would definitely recommend meeting with your local breeder, if possible, so you can see what it's like to hold a hedgie, and ask as many questions as you can think of. I was a little nervous about owning an exotic pet, but meeting with Stasi really helped me understand exactly what owning a hedgehog would entail, and that in all honestly, they're pretty easy pets to take care of. I warn you, though, once you see a boggle of baby hedgehogs, you'll probably be sold

I agree with Etzos that holding a hedgehog wasn't what I expected as I had only held one before Ava and he was a lot bigger and I was a little nervous at first. It's been great though! Ava's mom!
