Water bottles - 2007/05/26 07:01 Has anyone ever tried these Water Buddy water bottles? They are expensive, but you can get replacement parts which would make them cheaper over the long run. They come in different sizes too.

Just curious

Re:Water bottles - 2008/03/15 09:35 Hm, I've never tried one, but doesn't seem like a bad product.
I like that it can be filled without having to be removed from the cage. I also like that it doesn't work on a vaccuum principle, therefore like they said, food and saliva won't clog in the valve.
They're not overly expensive either. The cheapest is $12.99 and I know it's easy to go to a pet store and purchase a simple bottle for around $10.

Re:Water bottles - 2008/03/15 10:29 They look pretty good. I usually use the oasis water bottles. I really like them and they are very dependable. They are a little expensive something though.

Re:Water bottles - 2008/03/15 11:12 It doesn't have a ball but a valve? Can a hedgehogs mouth work the valve? Ava's mom!

Re:Water bottles - 2008/03/15 18:35 Oh, the oasis bottles leak like crazy for me. I suppose I should bring it back. I can't use it anymore. Its really too bad too because I liked them, and liked the metal hook it came with to put on the side of the sterilite containers.

I would definitely like to try those water buddy bottles. None of my hedgies have seemed to like their bottles lately, and I've moved them all to bowls, but if they spill them or put some of their bedding in there, they get soaked which I don't like. Some of my hedgies have even gone so far as gotten dehydrated because they stopped using their bottles....before I changed to bowls. Are anyone else's babies like this? Ugh. Seems like this bottle might be good to try. Hopefully someone else has used them on this board so I don't have to spend that much for it just not to work

Re:Water bottles - 2008/03/15 19:15 The fact that is doesn't have a ball is a good thing, IMHO. Because there have been instances when hedgehogs have gotten their tongue stuck in the tube because of the ball. Emily

If you have any problems with the oasis water bottles call the company. They are very good at replacing the water bottles since they have a lifetime warranty.

Re:Water bottles - 2008/03/16 22:38 I tried to get my hedgie to use a bowl also, along with her water bottle. She would have it! Her food always ended up in it, and She pooped in it once! http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=106956777

Re:Water bottles - 2008/03/17 15:03 Harriet will only drink from a bowl, but it's driving me mad . I have to refill it 2 or 3 times during the night because she tips it over. I've tried different dishes, but she seems intent on emptying them. I'm sure that she finds it funny. Barbara with Hector & Harriet Hog

Re:Water bottles - 2008/03/17 19:41 That is kind of why I never introduced a bowl to Tweetle, I didn't want him to tip it over! He seems perfectly content with his oasis water bottle **Mommy of Tweetle the hedgehog!**

Satin uses this type of waterer. I put it in the corner and, for all of her liner diving, she hasn't been able to knock it over
