We just wash the wheel every morning. It's not a big deal; we just go in before work, take the wheel out, put it to soak in the sink with warm water & dish soap, check the food dish, scoop out poop, do whatever else we need to do, then go back downstairs, take the wheel out of the sink and wipe it down & dry it and put it back. It probably takes less time than applying new press & seal or panty liners or whatever.
Generally the only thing that smells about Leona is a dirty wheel -- so if we wash it every day she's the least-offensive-smelling creature in the house!
