I know a lot of people on this forum use aspen shavings, carefresh, yesterdays news, and pine. I can't really say anything about them because I don't use them.
I use fleece liners, and I wash them about 2-3 times a week. I like liners because they are easy to spot clean and you are able to just take it out and throw it in the laundry. It is cheaper, too because you're not always buying bedding. If you are interested in making them then there are a couple of posts that you can read that tell you how to make them, or look on google and you can find people who sell them.
