Hedgehog tongues are amazing! Where do they keep it all?
Yes hedgies can be SUCH flirts. When I first got Isabel she fell for my boyfriend. She purred for him and let him pet her. When I picked her up she would keep her quills down for me but she wouldn't be affectionate. When we broke up and she realized he wasn't coming over anymore, Isabel gave me the cold shoulder for nearly a month!
When Isabel (she passed Sept 07) met my current boyfriend she worked hard to let him know she was here first and she was keeping an eye on him. It was so funny. I got Harley in December and he plays with Darran but poops on him every chance he gets. He's litterbox trained but he will WAIT for Darran to pick him up then let loose. Last week I wanted to take Harley to the park in his little carrier but wanted him to do his business before we left. Darran said, "Let me hold him and he'll go." He didn't have Harley for 30 seconds before the mess started! He held him over his litter box and the nice carrier stayed clean.
Harley purrs when he is chasing a meal worm and sitting on my shoulder playing with my hair. Don't feel bad if you've never heard your hedgie purr. It will happen just give it time.

Oh and I LOVE to spy on Harley at night. He's so cute when the light comes on. He just freezes no matter what he's doing and stares at me as if to say, "Turn off that freaking light! Geeze lady!"
