I have had a lot of babies born with the racing stripe but it dissipates after quilling. You can usually get a general idea of coloring fairly early on. Albinos babies are very very pink and quills white from the beginning. Dark babies are dark from the beginning, etc. So basic color groups you can determine early but the more detailed specifications usually have to wait til after quilling and sometimes up to a year.
