He's definitely still getting around as quickly as always, and his appetite is consistent. I just get a little paranoid, especially since one of my girls barely made it past 2 :(

    Elder Hogs

I have a 4 and a half year old male hedgehog by the name of Dingo. I purchased him from Kelly in March of 2008. He has been my little baby ever since.
He gets around just fine and still has a...

Dingo was a little champ at the vet :)
The vet said it is indeed an infected tumor. She wanted to sedate him to get a biopsy to determine if it's cancerous, but given his age I was afraid he...

    Oral infection/Tumor

Dingo is a 4 year old hedgehog. I've had him since I was 18 years old, and he's been my little baby ever since. Early this week, I noticed a small tumor on the right side of his jaw. I didn't think...

It's off! Thank-goodness! I gave him another little foot soak, just enough to cover his toes and the poo came off in one chunk. Gross, but thank goodness! His foot looks fine. But just in case, I...

    Extreme poop boots.

I haven't posted here in quite a long time, but I need your help.

I was on vacation for a few weeks with my family. While I was away, I had asked a friend of mine to hog-sit for me. I wrote a...

Stasi - Yes, my vet is out in Speonk and he absolutely loves my hoggies ( especially Pixel  ).
Oh geeze, I\'ll definitely be watching to make sure they don\'t hurt each other. When I put...

    The all important introduction

I\'m getting ready to breed my two hedgepigs, Dingo and Pixel. I\'ve read and re-read the articles and I feel confident that I know what I\'m doing... In my mind, that is.

As a human being, I tend...

Re:Do they all love the wheel?

If the cage didn\'t come with a wheel, chances are she\'s never seen one before and doesn\'t know how to use it. Leave the wheel in the cage. Eventually, her curious hedgie nature will get the better...

    Re:Snowflake question

Some hedgehogs have some heavy white in some areas. My boy Dingo has a lot of white quills around his bottom. When he curls up, it looks like a spot

Of course! Petco has hay feeders for rabbits and such that would work as an automatic feeder.
Let me see if I can find it online :)

    Re:any new yorkers?

I was looking for breeders in NY when I first got interested in hedgies. I really wasn\'t impressed with what I found and chose to go out of state. In the end, I\'m...
  18. Re:More interactive ways to have fun with me hedgie?

I like to play \"Hide the Mealie\" with Dingo ( Pixel isn\'t interested in mealies ).
Usually, I hide a few mealies around, either in his playpen or... in my pockets :P
    He loves sniffing them out...
