    silent spinner wheel

Was placing an order with Dr. Foster and Smith to try that Sun Script Hedgehog food and get a heat disk now to have on hand. I noticed a sale on the Silent Spinners and decided I\'d get one for Max\'s play run area that we put him into for an hour.

I was pleased to get a green one - way cool!

Was not pleased to find after short term use by a 463 gram hedgie that the green plastic now has three long cracks in it.

I will contactl Dr. Foster and Smith and I\'m sure they will make good on it, but now I have the aggravation of boxing it up and shipping it back - not worth the time or gas for a $16.00 wheel.

oh, the whole hour it was in use it was very quiet.

That is very odd Joy. I have used Silent Spinners and Comfort wheels for years with hedgies varying in weight and never had an issue. Perhaps it was just a defective one....

Where are the cracks in your wheel?? I have a silent spinner and I found that where you take off the little yellow thing so that you can take the wheel off the stand and if you screw it on too much the wheel will crack. I made that mistake. Now I don\'t screw it on as tight and it doesn\'t crack anymore.

They are not a \"hearty\" wheel...if you drop it or bang it it will most likely crack. I purchased 6 and one of them had a huge crack in it during shipping.

I didn\'t unscrew it, it came assembled and I stood it up and put it in. The only thing I did was with the green plastic part was not snapped in tight so I closed up the gaps in the teeth. Maybe I should have unscrewed it from the frame and rescrewed it, never did that on two other brands I have bought, it never occurred to me that I would have to do this (of course I was so excited at how happy John would be that we didn\'t get pink!).

The cracks are in the colored outside rim - it\'s green on mine (the bowl being white, the bowl is fine). The go the almost the whole width of the band, when they reach the entire length it will separate and not hold in there at all. I\'m debating whether to bother salvaging it with tape, there are currently three cracks.

I just wanted an extra wheel to put in the play run that he\'s in for about an hour (where I can safely put him while I clean his bin). murphys law - I get the defective one, could this be why they were on clearance?

Yeah I am not sure if it is a defective one. Whenever mine cracks it is always on the white non colored part of the wheel.
