Wild Rat

I found my cats playing with a wild rat. A very large wild rat. Then my dog came up, scared the cats off, and started to play with it himself. So naturally, me being a sucker for any animal in need, picked it up with my jacket and, much to the anger of my dad, brought it inside.

I am keeping it separate from all other animals in an aquarium. I plan on keeping it for about a day, maybe a little more, to make sure it\'s okay and mainly unharmed, then I am going to let it go as far away form civilization as possible.

I am feeding it crackers and bread items, just dropping them into the tank.

Once again, I do not plan on keeping it for any more than a day and a half.

Am I doing anything wrong, i know it\'s just a fat rat but still, it doesn\'t deserve to be a chew toy?:unsure:

No you are correct it doesn\'t deserve to be a chew toy please don\'t feed the rat a lot of straight bread though a little bit is good but offer it instead nuts/veggies/dog or cat food, and fruit/salad mix if you have any on hand are great for them as well. Crickets are also find as well.

I let it go this morning before school. Unfortunately my dog was there, and though I got him away from it, he was apparently tracking something all over in that field while I was at school.:S
