Mix it with a lower protien food if you cant get him to switch. I feed a mix of purina indoor and kitten
A one-year-old hedgie came to live with us recently. His name is Hodges. I read a lot of conflicting informationo as to what to feed him, types of bedding, treats, etc. Would just like to know what others have had success with. He won't eat anything other than Science Diet Kitten Food and an occasional mealworm. Is this OK?

Kitten food is typically too rich for a hedgehog's entire diet. Try mixing some lower protein cat foods in with his kitten to see if you can get him to at least eat less of the kitten food. If all else fails, you can start out by grinding the lower protein food into powder, and adding a pinch to his favorite foods, then slowly adding more of the lower protein foods.
