Jill,
My mom's standard poodle's eye looked something like that. She has glaucoma and retina detached. Just a thought.
I posted a week ago that I had an odd eyed white hedgehog. She has one black and one red eye. Here is what she looked like at around four weeks old http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X7h3P4TDgfs it's a you tube video. Now she is almost six weeks old and her black eye is no longer black and looks like it has a cataract on it perhaps a tumor. I won't be selling or breeding her but has anyone seen an eye on a hedgehog like this before?

It definitely looks like a cataract or even a quill poke wound to me. Make sure it isn't infected or gooey. If it is, there is an eye drop you can get from the vet. Genominicin, or something like that.
I would take her to a vet and see what they think it is. If it is just a cataract or wound, you can still find her a good home.

If she does go to a pet home, let them know it is highly possible she could lose her eye eventually- the few I've had with eyes that looked like that did eventually lose the eye. But, they appeared to be ok while they healed, and it didn't interfere any in their living otherwise happy, healthy lives.![]()
