Definately the worst day of my life so far. Said goodbye to Winston today. Couldn't watch him suffer anymore. Have a safe journey crossing the rainbow bridge baby boy. You were loved more than you can know, not just by me, but so many more people. It's amazing how such a small creature can leave such a big imprint on your heart. You will be missed, Winston Willobee III.

I am so very sorry. It's been a bad month for hedgehogs. I'll just bet that Winston and Pajama are together hunting for bugs in the great big eternal green field.

It seems so odd that so many have passed in such a short time, Winston was the 5th one I know to pass since March. Thistle Chaser in March, Squee in May, Herrison, Pyjama, and Winston in June. Why couldn't hedgies have a longer life span? I had about 3 1/2 years with Winston, such a short time for a little critter that had so much love. I miss him so much.

My sincerest sympathies for your loss; you were an excellent hedgehog mom to Winston.

I'm so sorry! You were a wonderful mom, he couldn't have had better care. It's very hard to lose such a dear friend. Again, my sympathies.

Thank you all for the condolences. I miss him terribly, but he's not suffering anymore.

I know you are able to take comfort in the fact that Winston is now at peace, playing with all of his friends over the rainbow bridge. It is so hard to lose a beloved pet. Know we are here for you and hopefully you will stay, offering support and guidance to other hedgie moms and dads

Thanks Andrea. Don't worry, I won't be going anywhere, I am hooked. I am more than willing to help others with their hedgie questions, and if someone should be in the position I was in, I would share the knowledge I have. I am so grateful to have found this wonderful community for support, and for an absolutely wonderful and caring vet as well. My hedgie friendship has expanded, and I have found others on facebook. I experience the joy in reading everyone's stories of the odd things their hedgies do, and cry my eyes out when I hear that one has passed. It is very sad, and difficult to deal with, but just remembering that cute little adorable face makes me smile. If I could, I would hug everyone.
