    Marking territory?

Does anybuddy know if male hedgehogs mark there territory?
Sometimes when my male hedgehog Avy pee it has a very strong strong and bad smell. ( I can smell it in the other end of the room), but it is not all the time he´s pee smells like that. So I was wondering if he is marking he´s territory?

Male hedgehogs do not mark. If his urine smells that bad then something is really wrong and you need to go to the vet.

Hedgehog urine should not have a strong smell. Clean his cage to make sure it isn't a dirty cage you are smelling. If the smell continues, then you will need to see a vet for medicine. There is nothing over the counter that will help.

Also, if it is humid, any dirty cage smells will hang in the air and smell more so that can cause more of a smell than usual.
