I assume you are planning to do a C&C cage (if you have no idea what I am referring to, google it). Some people love them. Personally, I'm not a huge fun. If your hedgehog is less then 6 months (or just tiny), they may be able to slip through the grids. Hedgehogs can also climb really well, so you need a top and that can get difficult to support when the cage is on the larger side.

I'm also not a fan of liners. Some people love them, but I find them to be very messy. You need to change them daily (unless you have an older hedgehog that is really super about using the litter box. A young hedgehog is going to poop everywhere). The hedgehog also gets messy because it is walking through its own waste (because the waste sits on top and there are no shavings to cling to it).

i just got one and my hedie loves it. its a lot bigger and roomy but doesnt take up much more space. its alot easier to clean because i dont have to fully take of the top of the cage to clean it.
but i assume that your going to put coroplast in the bottom and on the sides. you should be assured that it is VERY hard to put it together becdause the peices fall off as your putting more on. i would also suggest that you twist tie the sides together for extra safety. i got 2 sets of the 3 packs so i had some more cage parts then the 6 packbut i just used those for storage for my hedgie supplys. so with the 6 pack you could do what i did. a 2x3 cage. its really great

I really like this way of putting together the cage with the small ramp and upper part but i didnt have enough conectors

This is great, but if your hedgie is an escape artist, there are multiple ways to get out. So, before you make a grid cage like it, I would get to know your hedgie.

I agree with Stasi, although I want to point out that pretty much ALL hedgehogs are escape artists and they love to climb. even if your hedgehog doesn't figure it out right away, eventually they will and you will have a missing hedgehog.

I'm also not a fan of ramps. Hedgehogs have bad eyesight and will walk right off the edge.

Pictures can be deceiving size wise, but check that water bottle and make sure it is low enough for the hedgie to reach comfortably
