    Heating pad or heat lamp...?

Agnes sleeps with her own personal blanket stuffed into her hut, but im getting a chinchilla soon so i will have to kick down the air. Which is safer a reptile heating pad or a heating lamp?

My recommendation is to get a small animal heating pad. You do not want a heat LAMP. Hedgehogs are nocturnal and do not like the extra light. Yes, they can see red light. You can go with a ceramic heat emitter, it's the same outer fixture with a different bulb.

I used the red heat lamp for Winston, and hedgies can see the light, but it isn't terribly bright. Winston liked the light, he would stumble around in his cage without it. We later switched to the ceramic heat emitter, which lasts much longer than a heat bulb. We added a night light to his area to give him some indirect light to help him see. I guess he could've had poorer eyesight than most hedgies, I'm blind as a bat (well it seems like it anyway) without my glasses. And the saying goes, animals take after their owners.
