You may have had a smell on your hand that she liked. I remember once after eating BBQ chips my Skittles done the same thing with my hand. I would chalk it up as something tasty on your hand unless it becomes a common thing.
Today, i got my hedgehog Agnes out to play in her new playpen which she loves, anyway for the first time she started licking my hand, i assumed she was happy and showing her love. She kept licking then out of no where she bit me! Shes never done either of those to me, she bit my dad once cause he scared the poop outta her. Then she went right back to playing. My only explanation is she found out we ran out of meal worms and wanted a snack anyway or my hand smelt good. I read on here some hedgies do this to anoit, but she didnt and ive never seen her do it before.
Any explantions?
Thanks, sarah.

ya, what he/she said. Never put your hedgehog back in the cage right after it bites. You will teach it that biting is a way to communicate that it wants to go to its cage and then you start bad patterns.
