Hey guys, so recently Lychee hasn't been well, and I have to start giving her Medication for it. The problem is, she hates the medicine and I have to either hold her down, or hold her by her scruff. By the time I finally get the medicine inside her, she gets really nervous because of the whole ordeal. I have to feed her medicine for the next two weeks and I'm afraid this might damage our relationship. Any advice on what to do?
Do you have someone to help you? That would make it easier. Also, if you put the syringe at the corner of her mouth rather than the front that is easier as well. The best luck we have had has been with adding flavors to the meds for the hedgehogs. Some of them have liked the fruit flavors like banana and will just slurp it up themselves.

The problem is not getting her to take it, I usually hold her by her scruff and give it to her. What I'm worried is that she might become fearful of me because of the struggle I have to go through with her to get her to drink it, and how that will affect her relationship with me.Originally Posted by CThogs
I think you will be fine. Give her a treat after the meds and then lots of attention so it becomes a positive experience.
